Plot
The band of terrorists, aided by a previous CIA agent, seize control of an American battleship (the USS Missouri) carrying nuclear weapons, planning to sell them on the black market. A single tool in their way occurs as ship's cook (Steven Segal), who good happens to become the Chief Petty Officer and former Navy SEAL with special-weapons, aikido and hand-to-hand combat training.

Production and distribution
Under Beleaguering was rated 'R' ('Restricted') by the US MPAA. It stars Steven Seagal, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey, Patrick O'Neal and Erika Eleniak and was directed by Andrew Davis. It was followed by the sequel, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory.

Though it was placed aboard USS Missouri (BB-63), none of the film was actually filmed there. Instead it was mostly filmed aboard USS Alabama, at the period already the museum ship around Mobile, Alabama.
